Coraline and the magic door

Coraline is the magic door

Henry Selick

The first person that comes to mind reading or hearing the phrase "From the director of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'" is certainly very good reasons, the inimitable genius of Tim Burton. Wrong. Why do not all know that the official director of the adventure Christmas Jack Skeleton has become a veritable cult, is Henry Selick. Lover of the stop-motion as Burton, in his "Coraline and the Magic Door", combines for the first time 3D animation and new technologies.
Coraline is the fantasy writer Neil Gaiman and his casual but providential typo (should have been Caroline). He has eleven years and has recently moved into a new home with his parents. But these too are taken from their jobs to care for her and, while wandering around in a bored exploration of the house, he discovers a door that leads to a completely speculate that it comes from. Here the only difference is the kindness shown by people, who instead of eye has two buttons. Everything is seemingly better: his other-mother, her other-father, his neighbors, the two actresses retired eccentric acrobat trainer mice. But soon the little blue-haired heroine will realize that not everything is as idyllic as it seems.
in everything Tim Burton has nothing to do absolutely nothing but remind us continually dark fairy-tale atmosphere and the dichotomy between the bright colors of the "port in the world" and those dull and gray just like the reality of Coraline in "The Corpse Bride." In the work of Selick but the pace is a bit disappointing '. Sometimes the narrative is so slow that easily distracted us from what could really be something more than the first highly successful experiment in stop-motion to see with the 3D glasses.

But aside from these moments of light devolution, "Coraline" is proving a fascinating journey through dreams, nightmares and fantasy worlds for "Alice in Wonderland" (where the White Rabbit is jumping mouse and its hole course is the Magic Door), referring both children and adults, who can not leave our heads held high by any of the two parallel universes.
