Monday 29 June the lake of Villa Ada, in the course of the exhibition "Rome meets the world," hosted a concert by the trio Whitetree. A surprise for those who are waiting for an unknown indie band, to discover that behind this name was Ludovico Einaudi Anglophone, one of the best Italian pianists, and two brothers Lippok, part of a German cult band. The artists, as part of an ambitious project that combines classical and electronic music, presented the album "Cloudland", based on the novel "The Palm-Wine Drinkard" Nigerian writer Amos corn.
is nothing new, for Einaudi experiment with musical influences, as evidenced by his participation in a progressive rock band early in his career. The project among the three artists born from a meeting a few years ago, during a performance of To Rococo Rot (the band of brothers Lippok) in Milan. Einaudi said: "I liked their performance, I went to visit them in their dressing room and we agree that it would have been nice to work together one day."
The two brothers had always wanted to mix their music with something totally different. "When Louis sits at the top is pure energy and the lives of our album this aspect. Our sound is sometimes powerful and sometimes difficult but always open to innovation, "said Robert Lippock.
So after a few blocks concerts in 2006 and 2008, the trio decided to join and create a real album, which enclose the experiences of each. The dialogue flows in the notes producing images of great charm, and eliminating any confounding definition and giving way to the pure essence of music, where nothing is absolute or cataloged, but where each note is a surprise, alternating bursts of energy with moments of introspective calm and relaxed.
